THEMIS False Color Image of Olivine Abundance

Draft version to date: Not all stamps have D875 layers to reveal Olivine in greater amounts.

1. Open JMARS

2. Zoom in to a small section of the area of interest

3. Click “LAYERS”

4. Click on “Browse”. In the “Select  the Category” drop down menu boxes, select on “instrument” and “THEMIS”. Click "New THEMIS Stamps"

5. Double click the “THEMIS Stamps” layer. Choose “SET LON/LAT TO BOUNDS OF VIEW”.  Click OK. Close "THEMIS Stamp options" window.

6. Click, hold and drag to select the blue outlines covering the area of interest. The lines turn yellow.

7. Within the group of yellow lines, right click

8. Place your curser over "Render Selected Themis Stamps"and select "Render Selected as" D875.

9. Wait…… It takes time.

10. Purple and magenta colors in D875 represent higher levels of Olivine than the surrounding areas in the image. Optional: Double click on the "THEMIS Stamps layer; click on "RENDERED"; Click the "hide stamp outlines" box. Close the "THEMIS Stamps Options window, Zoom out so all selected stamps show; them zoom in again.
