LEVEL 5 Reasoning (0-2 pts.)

Explain how the evidence and supporting scientific principle support the claim. Include relevant scientific principles, laws, or concepts to further substantiate your claim.

For example, there is a universal law in geology called the law of superposition for relative ages. This law might support a claim for which of two craters was younger if the second crater overlay the first crater. Or, based on scientists understanding of the Earthly mesa formation process, scientists believe an erosional resistance layer (cap rock) kept underlying layers from eroding, creating a flat -topped, steep-sided hill (mesa). The Mars feature may have been formed in a similar way.

Keep your reasoning explanation on paper or a computer document.
